HOST INBOUND EXPERIENCES IN

SHARING THE REAL JAPAN THROUGH EDUCATION

In collaboration with fully licensed domestic tourism operators in Japan with deep industry connections, Real Japan Group specialises in hosting and arranging tailored educational workshops for overseas groups. If you've found it difficult to access Japan's insular networks, we can open those doors and host a workshop tailored to your group's objectives. The examples below illustrate the scope of what we've delivered.

JAPANESE WOOD, DESIGN, & ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOPS

We run specialised workshops for professionals involved in wood, architecture, design and construction. These programs bring international architects, designers, builders and timber specialists into direct contact with the people who make Japanese timber culture so unique.

Over an intensive week, participants experience:

  • Japanese forests and forestry

  • Sawmills and timber production

  • Traditional and modern Japanese carpentry

  • Japanese craftsmen

  • Architects and designers

  • Builders and construction techniques

  • The history and culture behind Japanese wood

These programs are currently offered largely through word of mouth. We don't market them as conventional tourism.

They are opportunities for professionals to come to Japan, meet the right people and gain knowledge that they simply cannot obtain from a website or trade catalogue.

A segment of one of our 2025 wood workshops was even featured on Japanese national television. Click here to check it out.

KAIZEN KENDO WORKSHOPS

Our Kaizen Kendo Workshop has been running since 2014, originally under the name Kendo Tours, before becoming the Kaizen Kendo Workshop in 2025.

This program is a concentrated five-night, six-day immersion into Japanese Kendo culture.

Participants don't simply visit Japan and practise Kendo (Japanese fencing). They experience Kendo within Japan and are able to establish lasting connections with the local Kendo community.

The workshop has become so popular that our twice-yearly programs now require very little promotion, with places often filling through our existing network and word of mouth.

Both Graham and Ren are dedicated practitioners of Kendo. The Kaizen Kendo Workshop is made possible through their well-established connections with the Shizuoka Kendo Federation.
